Description: A bio of the first female tractor driver in Poland, Magdalena Figura, whose face was popularised by a 1949 poster. Artefacts from the era of “socialist building” tell of her enterprising, record-breaking work, of which she is still proud. In spite of her spectacular emancipation she takes pleasure in the respect of those around her, and not even advancing age deters her from occasionally taking her tractor out for a spin.
