Description: This is the story of an NRI, Varun, who has returned to India after 12 years, the film shows him trying to grapple with the dichotomies in his personality of an antiseptic American reality where calories are counted and saturated fat (ghee to his mother) is bad for the heart. Throughout the film, Varun argues about the pros and cons of being what he is, an Indian American. Varun, played by the director, is a prize catch for the neighbors, who try to get him married off to their daughters. While one tries to lure him with "two plots of land in Jubilee Hills (an upmarket locality in Hyderabad) and Rs. 5 lakh in fixed deposit," another reports about his dates with Ashwini, a doctor, played by Rajshri Nair. While Varun, played by Kukunoor, and his friends speak English, although with different accents, and Hindi, his parents speak Telugu. The trilingualism depicted, however, does not seem unnatural. In fact, it helps the characters emerge as more real than reel figures ever do.
