The main valley covers about 2000 square miles and ranges from 11,500-20,500 feet in altitude. It is home to about 12,000 Tibetans, whose livelihood mainly depends on herding and the annual harvest. The short films included on this Dvd are organized around aa community map of Dzongsar. They were planned and filmed by a team from the locally run Yothok Yonden Gonpo Medical Association. Over the years, the medical Association has played a vital role in stimulating local arts, education, culture, and medical services in Dzongsar. The films were edited by Tsering Perlo of the Rabsal Association, with support from the Kham Film project, and the University of Virginia's tibetan Himalayan Digital Library.
