Description: Director Nanni Moretti stars as himself in this film, a whimsical exposure-- and product-- of the entertainment aesthetic and its profound effect upon individuals. Moretti's search for truth and meaning is both confined by and grounded within media-generated roles and images. But through his travels and investigation of his illness, he ultimately manages to latch onto something more subtle and tangible than soap-opera plots or "Flashdance."
