Description: All too often educators bravely integrate technology into the curriculum in order to keep up with what everyone else seems to be doing. But there are many more considerations involved beyond merely using it -- and often students and other instructors wonder aloud, "Why are we doing this?"
In this hands-on session we will discuss several of the practical issues involved in integrating technology into the curriculum: planning multimedia activities to fit the existing syllabus versus changing the syllabus to accommodate technology, utilizing off-the-shelf software versus independent software design, and goal-setting and task-planning in instructional preparation. Not only will we explore the possibilities of the Internet/WWW as a resource, but we will also emphasize other practical and productive aspects of multimedia for the enhancement and enrichment of FL instruction.
